Jari-Matti Latvala has won the Lahti Historic Rally 2009, in his Mk2 Ford Escort RS1800, after setting fastest time on nine of the eleven stages run.

Finnish driver Mika Turkki was second in an Opel Ascona 400 with Pekka Laaksonen third driving a Ford Escort RS2000 Mk1. Norwegian veteran Valter Jensen finished in fourth place behind the wheel of a Porsche Carrera RS.

SS2 was cancelled following an accident involving a Lancia Stratos, which in a big jump and some trees, the car was extensively damaged in the crash.
