For the World Rally Championship's seventh round of the season, 47 crews sent in their registration forms to the Acropolis Rally organisers.

As was the case in Sardinia, five teams will be battling for the best places in the manufacturer's championship. The works Citroen and Ford teams will be fighting for victory of course, but satellite outfits will accompany them in their campaign as the Stobart M-Sport Ford, Citroen Junior Team and Munchi's Ford operations will also be on hand.

Factory drivers Sebastien Loeb and Dani Sordo will defend Citroen's colours while Mikko Hirvonen and Jari-Matti Latvala do the same for Ford.

Matthew Wilson and Henning Solberg will be handling their respective Stobart Ford team cars, Evgeny Novikov and Conrad Rautenbach will aim for points aboard their Citroen Junior Team machines, and the Munchi's Ford team will be counting on Federico Villagra at the wheel of its sole entry.

Petter Solberg returns with his privateer Citroen Xsara intent on fighting again for drivers' championship points, as will Sebastien Ogier at the wheel of the third CJT entry; likewise for Khalid Al Qassimi aboard the Ford team's third car.

The performances of Mads Ostberg and his Adapta Team Subaru will be of interest, as will those of local rally star Aris Vovos, also racing a Subaru Impreza WRC.

This weekend's Acropolis Rally will host the Production Car World Rally Championship (P-WRC) as well. The action begins Friday June 12th.
